The RECIRCULATE project showcases a European-wide initiative to improve battery recycling and reuse. The session covers policy, technology, and business model innovations that support a circular battery economy.

The event is intended for people interested in the circular economy and robotics.

Tomi Pitkäaho from Centria will demonstrate to us how batteries can be dismantled using robots based on the tests and learnings from RECIRCULATE EU Horizon project.   A 30-minute presentation will focus on the robotic dismantling of traction batteries (pack to module level):

About RECIRCULATE project: The Recirculate project aims to enable more intelligent decisions at each point during dismantling to determine the best, most cost-effective way to reuse, remanufacture or recycle. The consortium will create an accelerated characterization that will provide trusted data about the battery. With an advanced classification tool, the risk of fire will be mitigated and increased safety for the handlers will be achieved, limiting human exposure to danger.
