SIX Mobile Work Machines cluster is organizing a full-day open workshop “eNativeMachine” on October 6th at Tampere Hall.
The mobile work machine industry is undergoing the biggest transformation in its history.
Yet even the most futuristic concepts still carry the legacy constraints and burdens of the ICE era and operator in the cabin. To overcome these boundaries, the industry and research players must collaboratively look for new ways of thinking, researching, designing, and creating value, from task-driven development to software defined collaborative machines and entirely new opportunities throughout the value chain and beyond.
This event combines perspective-shifting presentations and group workshops
to explore the key issues, methods, and tools to kickstart the journey towards eNativeMachine.

Background:
The mobile work machine industry is in the middle of the biggest transformation in its history. Everything is changing. Work machines are becoming electrified and digitalized on many different levels. However, in the bigger picture, even the most futuristic concept machines and designs still carry the legacy burden of the ‘ICE era’ and operator in the cabin.
Key questions:

How can the mobile work machine of the future be developed in a task-oriented way, fully utilizing new/upcoming technical capabilities while also challenging the traditional concept of the task itself?

How can thinking around the task be extended beyond an individual machine? Future mobile work machines may perform tasks collaboratively.

The work machine as an enabling platform. What new, unseen value can future mobile machines enable, even beyond the traditional boundaries of the industry?
