This document tells the story of the formation and practical operations of an initiative that has largely blazed the trail for the digital and green transformation of Finnish industry. This account is not an exhaustive history; rather, it is a distillation of the most essential elements: why SIX exists and why it is growing.
This document was compiled and edited by Harri Nieminen from Tampere University and Jaakko Paasi from VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland. To create a comprehensive overview for the story, numerous stakeholders within the SIX network were interviewed.
